We supply you with one line from a well-known song. We supply you with the year also. Teams must guess both the artist plus the song title for the one-liner given.  In the event of a cover version being made in that chosen year and the original being recorded earlier, the artist of the cover version is the answer required.

A nice idea yes, unfortunately,6 of the 19 were 1977 hits namely Bonnie Tyler, Queen,R Stewart, C Gayle, Santa Esmerelda and Leroy Gomez and Name of the game by Abba. For music Quiz professionals like myself I think a little more care is needed in research in order not to mislead contestants.

I take your pt Steve, although Ted's 'mistake' was (with some of the songs you have mentioned)that they were recorded in 77 and released in 78, or they were hits at different times on one side of the Atlantic.
