American internet travel giant TripAdvisor have published the list of the top ten tourist destinations in Europe in 2007. The list was compiled from access and search data from their website.

1. The London Eye, London, UK (which incidentally is the newest on the list, having only opened in 2000)

2. The Tower of London, London, UK

3. The Eiffel Tower, Paris, France

4. The Louvre, Paris, France - situated on the River Seine, the Louvre is where the famous Mona Lisa by Leonardo Da Vinci is on display

5. The Colosseum, Rome, Italy

6. The House of Anne Frank, Amsterdam, Netherlands

7. The Musee d'Orsay, Paris, France

8. State Hermitage Museum and Winter Palace, St. Petersburg, Russia - the former residence of the Russian tsars.

9. The Tivoli Gardens, Copenhagen, Denmark

10. Alhambra Palace, Granada, Spain
